About The 2nd Ward

The 2nd Ward sprawls across Chicago’s North Side, covering parts of Streeterville, the Near North Side, River North, Gold Coast, Old Town, Lincoln Park, Bucktown, Noble Square, Wicker Park, and Ukrainian Village. Within these neighborhoods exist a number of active neighborhood associations, block clubs, and community organizations that have helped preserve and promote the vibrant nightlife, history, culture, and tradition that forms the foundation of these diverse communities in the Ward. These organizations have done wonders to help make Chicago’s 2nd Ward one of the best places to live, work, and be entertained in our city.

Alderman Brian Hopkins was first elected in April 2015 to represent the newly-drawn 2nd Ward, joining City Council after 20 years working in Cook County Government.  He is joined in serving constituents by 2nd Ward Democratic Committeeman Tim Egan, a life-long hospital adminstrator, and current CEO of the New Roseland Community Hospital. Together, Alderman Hopkins and Committeeman Egan will work for you to preserve the quality of life that 2nd Ward residents have come to expect.
